  7. The sample bank works very simply:
  8.  
  9. You made your deposit when you bought the CD-ROM and now all
  10. you have to do is make unlimited withdrawals!
  11.  
  12. The CD-ROM is organized in the following way:

  14. x = your CD-ROM drive letter
  15.

  17. x:\readme.txt = this text file
  18.  
  19. x:\mirage.txt = Mirage sample disk listing
  20.  
  21. x:\utility = utility directory
  22.  
  23. x:\giebler = Giebler directory
  24.  
  25. x:\giebler\catalog.doc = order form for Giebler products
  26.  
  27. x:\ede.exe = Ensoniq disk extractor (backup - can be copied to a
  28.          hard disk for other use)
  29.  
  30. x:\edy.exe = Yamaha disk extractor (backup - can be copied to a
  31.          hard disk for other use)

  33. x:\ensoniq = EPS/EPS-16+/ASR-10/TS/K-2000 sample disk directory

  35. x:\ensoniq\ede.exe = Ensoniq sample disk extractor

  37. x:\mirage = Mirage sample disk directory

  39. x:\mirage\ede.exe = Ensoniq sample disk extractor

  51. 1)  Type the drive letter of you CD-ROM drive (eg. d:) and press enter.
  52. 2)  Change to the ensoniq directory (cd ensoniq).
  53. 3)  Run the disk extractor program by typing  ede  (ede.exe)
  54. 4)  Browse through the disk listing by pressing page up and page down.
  55. 5)  Type in the number of the disk you want.
  56. 6)  Insert the required capacity disk and press enter.

  61. EXTRACTING MIRAGE SAMPLE DISKS

  63. 1)  Type the drive letter of you CD-ROM drive (eg. d:) and press enter.
  64. 2)  Change to the ensoniq directory (cd mirage).
  65. 3)  Run the disk extractor program by typing  ede  (ede.exe)
  66. 4)  Browse through the disk listing by pressing page up and page down.
  67. 5)  Type in the number of the disk you want.
  68. 6)  Insert the required capacity disk and press enter.

  73. EXTRACTING YAMAHA SAMPLE DISKS

  75. 1)  Type the drive letter of you CD-ROM drive (eg. d:) and press enter.
  76. 2)  Change to the ensoniq directory (cd mirage).
  77. 3)  Run the disk extractor program by typing  yde  (yde.exe)
  78. 4)  Browse through the disk listing by pressing page up and page down.
  79. 5)  Type in the number of the disk you want.

  85. WAVE FILES
  86.  
  87. Contained in various sub-directories within the x:\waves directory,
  88. are the categories of WAVE (.wav) files.  Refer to your Windows,
  89. application, operating system and sound card manuals for directions
  90. on using WAVE files.

  93. UTILITIES
  94.  
  95. Some of the utilities are zipped and some are not.  Unzip the files or 
  96. copy the files you need to your hard disk and refer to the text files
  97. incluede with the applications for instructions.

  100. Converting EPS disks to WAVE files:
  101.  
  102. This isn't the easiest task, but it works well!
  103.  
  104. 1)  Extract and run the eps_disk program.
  105. 2)  Extract an EPS instrument from a floppy disk as a generic file.
  106. 3)  Extract and run the GOLDWAVE program (Windows) and import the file.
  107.     You may have to adjust the parameters (like sample rate etc.) before
  108.     you get quality results.
  109. 4)  Save the file as a WAVE file.
  110. 5)  Take two Aspirins and go to bed!

  114. PROBLEMS WITH ede.exe and/or yde.exe?
  115.  
  116. The only reported problem has been a crash of the program.  This is
  117. likely due to memory manager programs.  In the unlikely event that
  118. the programs crash, try to disable your memory manager and run them
  119. again.
